Notes from the day

It was a quite 4th here, Jill and family packing for a weeks vacation at OBX, now that Arthur has left.  Not sure what Toby's family is doing but nobody at the pool and I am grilling a few ribs and leg quarters for us.  Using the iGrill Jill gave me for Fathers Day, you set the temp you want the meat and when done sends an alarm to your I Phone.  Dale made BBQ in his Green Egg for their week at the beach and brought us some for Saturday night dinner.   Speaking of Saturday we plan to finish the first part of our cobble stone deck project.

Looking forward to Reeder's and Barb's visit mid July. I had to made appointment for Stormy as the self levelers are not working and with an engraving shows in August and hoped for few days at forest service campgrounds I believe they will be needed.

Today we did some yard work in the morning before it became hot. I put up my (first) "pipe bird house". While visiting Camp Swampy Honey Company, a bee keeper Reeder introduced me to, he showed me bird houses (for Blue Birds and Wrens) he makes out of 4" thin wall plastic pipe.  Because of my interest he loaned me one to use as a pattern.  It became a project for Will and me, and while we have completed two just put my first one up and will put Will's up when he returns.  They are snake and cat proof and very inexpensive.

                                               Until next time
