First blog of 2016,

This is my first blog of 2016, January has gone by fast.  End of the holidays, snow storm, girls basketball, starting kitchen remodel.

Exciting girls varsity basketball Friday night. BSH beat Amelia for the first time in 6 years and won it in the last seconds of the game. Great team play and last minute free throw shooting did it.  

Basketball  may not be only reason Edna goes to all games, grandmotherly instinct and coach's baby?

The "Blizzard of 2016" dumped 20 inches of snow on us.  Richmond closed down for 2 days with the road conditions and power outages.  When Reeder went back to work he brought us a container of oysters he shucked , as they could not use at restaurant.  They were great!!

As schools were closed, Will spent some time at our house taking pictures of the birds at Edna's feeders.    

 Wilbur and Lizzie helped take down the Christmas tree.

  

We were lucky and only lost power at end of storm for about 10 hours, but not so lucky with TV.  Wind and snow knocked the "dish" off its pole on the roof and had to wait a week for Direct TV to be able to replace.  Could not go on roof until snow was off.  Spent evenings in front of the fire with a scotch, reading a book.  Finished 4 books and some scotch.
