Starting to rain as I write my blog, not the result of
Arthur just a storm from the West. While
fishing with Will I managed to get my phone in the river and that was the end
of the I Phone. Luckily I had insurance
on it and was replaced for the cost of the deductible. Service was fast and
replacement sent overnight, however the paper work on line required more time
than the phone to arrive. Now have a water proof case, not a cheap lesson.
I volunteered to be a "Trained Citizen Scientists"
for the James River Association. At
training I said to myself what have I got myself into? Has been a long time since taking a scientist
class. Below is a picture of my assigned
water testing location for the James River Watch. First time I will be on my own is July 17,
but I am working on getting Edna to go with me.
Both granddaughters competed in the Deep Run A Horse
Show. Abby first time at an A show at 3
feet won a ribbon. So I went at captured a few
pictures for them on one of the days they both competed.

Will and my trapping for the month at the bird feeder in
June was 12 squirrels, 2 raccoons and captured 4 black snakes in the chicken
house. All successfully relocated to new
homes. We did wonder why so many
squirrels, so we painted one with blue paint on his tail (named blue tail). Several days after we released him on the far
end of the farm Blue Tail was back at the bird feeder again. Now have a more
distant relocation zone for the critters.
HAPPY 4th ALL
