With the cold weather (14 degrees) Thursday morning the birds have been at the feeders often.
We have been walking our property line as they will start cutting timber soon and we need to show them the property. Friday we walked the north side and after crossing the stream and then to the river, we realized we had not been in this area for over 10 years. Gus and Baxter went with us and Gus would not cross the stream. Gus was running up and down the stream watching us but would not cross. I said he just did not want to get dirty and track into the house, Edna said he was a wimp.
Saturday we walked the south side and found the remains of a coyote. He did not appear to be dead long. Also saw several animal skulls along the walk.
Sunday forecast was for Spring and we decided to go to York State Park for a hike and hopefully some birding. As we discovered so did another several hundred people most with dogs, largest "dog park" in Virginia. Walked about 3.5 miles and saw few birds, however Edna did see a red headed woodpecker. There is a very interesting canoe trail through the marsh, we would like to float this spring.
Several had a nice string of fish
